O’lorae Member Bio-page

I know a fair amount about O’lorae as he is today. His past, however, still remains a little sketchy to me. I know he had issues with his father, but that’s about everything I know of his childhood. O’lorae and I got to talking after our Holiday Feast, and he began to open up to me, beginning by assuring me that the details of his life were quite inconsequential. At least, I think he did. We were both still more than a little drunk from the party, and what follows is his part of the conversation, as best as I can recollect. After he finished with his diatribe, he quickly nodded off to sleep, still sitting in his chair. I’ll have to ask him about his childhood again someday...

Guildmaster, Founder, Charter Member, and Elder of BS&R

“My Father was a relentlessly self-improving Grand Master Tailor from Trinsic, with low grade narcolepsy and a pension for Buggery. My mother was a 15 year old British prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would drink, he would womanize, he would make outrageous claims like he ‘invented the question mark.’ Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy—the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament.

“My childhood was pretty typical: summers in Vesper, Tailoring lessons. In the springtime we’d make bone helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a dyed sack and beaten with a gnarled staff, pretty standard stuff really. At the age of 12 I received my first scribe, at the age of 14 a Magincian named Villma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There is nothing quite like the look of a freshly shorn scrotum—it’s breathtaking, I suggest you try it.”

— O’lorae
Deputy Guildmaster, Founder, Charter Member, and Elder of BS&R

O’lorae has received 3 Commendations during his career in Britannia Search & Rescue. The first was awarded on Sunday, 24 August 1997, due to his ingenuity in coming up with the (now unused) original name of the guild. The second Commendation came on Friday, 24 October 1997, due to his being compelled to kill a looter in order to safeguard the items precious to, not one, but two of his fellow guild members. This act of was during a complicated set of circumstances, and done with the threat of death, loss of all his items, and the foreknowledge that doing so would immediately result in a significant drop in O’lorae’s Notoriety. The third was received on Friday, 22 November 1997, due to his being in the guild for 3 months.
