Custom Character Art
Special Temporary Deal: Any custom character art ordered before the end of September 2008 will get a FREE signed copy of Local Heroes #1 AND a FREE small temporary tattoo similar to the orange generic puppette's tattoo in Playtime Projects! That's a deal you can't beat with a stick!
Let's get down to business: I want to draw you a picture. Not just any picture. No, you deserve only the best. Choose your favorite character, and I'll draw and sign a picture of it for you.4>
Below is a list of all the steps involved.
- Use the form at www.hurm.com/contact/ to tell me which character you want.
- It could be one of my characters (like Squire, Silent Knight, any Heroes Incorporated® character, or one of the Playtime Projects generic puppettes) or maybe you have your own character that you want me to draw. As long as I have a clear understanding of who I'm drawing for you, I'm game for almost anything.
- Before you go giving me too much detail, look at the example images on this page. That's the cartoony style and approximate level of detail that will probably be going into your picture.
- Black and white artwork only.
- There won't be any backgrounds—just the one character.
- Also, just so you know, the picture will be suitable for an all-ages audience. I won't be drawing anything nude or nasty.
- Give me your contact information, including:
- Your full name.
- Your e-mail address.
- Your mailing address.
- When I e-mail you confirmation of your order, I'll also ask that you deposit a payment of $40 into my PayPal account.
- Don't worry about the shipping and handling. I'll take care of it. It's all part of the service!
- About 2 or 3 weeks after that deposit, you'll receive your picture in the mail!
- Exciting!
Want to know how the drawing process will work? Glad you asked! Well, after a few rough sketches I'll switch to a gold old number 2 pencil (typically Paper-Mate Naturals or Dixon Ticonderogas) and a 9" x 12" sheet of bristol paper. Then I'll use some Pigma Brush and Micron pens to ink the details. Next, I'll fill in any black fields with a black Sharpie. When I'm all done, I'll erase the pencils and sign that puppy.
By the way, I need to point out that I will maintain all copyrights for these pictures. That means that you will own the paper with the picture on it, while the rights to reproduce the image will still be mine; you're not allowed to reproduce that image (for your business or website or whatever) just because you own the paper with the original art. (But if you did want to re-use it, check back with me and I'm sure we can work something out!)
