The Local Heroes storyline evolves and so does its website. Beyond simple coding improvement, there are number of enhancements as well--including a new "Community" section!
Here's a list of some of the changes:
- The site's layout is currently controlled with a combination of tables and CSS, but the new layout will be all CSS controlled. If that means nothing to you then don't worry about it. Just assume I said "Adapts better to more browsers."
- The top navigational "cover" image changes every time you load the page! It will display either the legendary Mystery-man, the enigmatic Silent Knight, the undefeatable American Spirit, or the sensational Squire.
- Have you checked out the new "Community" page yet? It's for link-sharing, fan art, and things like that there. Spiffy!
- The comic navigation links ("Previous," "Next," etc.) are now graphics instead of normal text links.
- You can now change the color style for the site! Look for the "Switch Site Style" paragraph at the bottom of the "Welcome!" sidebar. There's four color styles to choose from: Legion (the default), Mystery-man, Silent Knight, American Spirit, and Squire. I'm currently happy with the Legion, Silent Knight, and Squire colors (except maybe their hyperlinks), but the Mystery-man and American Spirit colors need improvements--and maybe some elements to connect them more with the characters they're named after (like the horizontal segements in the Silent Knight set or the vertical stripes in the Squire set).
- That big red Google Ads box on the bottom right was a little big in the previous incarnation. The current smaller box is better.
