Updating My Online Portfolio

I've been thinking for a while that I should update my online portfolio. I almost did it a few hours ago, but then I fell asleep on the couch. :] I woke up and almost went to bed, but decided to check e-mail and a web site or two first. I saw a request from Shaenon K. Garrity for an artist to help with a possible superhero web comic and decided to send her an e-mail about the possibility of the two of us partnering up with her idea.

Shaenon is the creator of the popular "Narbonic" web comic, about a mad scientist and her humorous adventures, and is also the writer on two other web comics, "Trunktown" and "Li'l Mell."

I scanned in some pictures, and assembled those and some older pics into my new portfolio section here. There's no fancy layout yet, but that can always come later.

Um. You did read the part where she said you had to stick to a WEEKLY schedule and work AHEAD when possible, right?

Bastion, did you read the part where there might be some money involved? ;P

And since when did you start reading Nowheresville? Miscreant!

Bastion commented at 3:01 PM on July 31, 2003:

Money? That's your motivation. And you call yourself an "artist".

Shaenon got back to me. She said, "Oh, man! I really really like your art," but had unfortunately already selected another artist (named Robert Stevenson). She was nice about it, and suggested a couple of alternative web comic partners who were looking for artists. I asked her to keep me in mind for future projects or as the occassional guest artist. :]

Well that's great and all but if you want to do a web comic then just do it yourself. It's not like you don't have the talent. You might be lacking the drive though. I'd be willing to help out...again...if you want.

Hey Kei... um, Nobody, you forgot the http:// thingy in front of the link in the html code for Robert Stevenson. Unless you like his art so much that you're going to host him here.

And I loved his work on Treasue Island.

Jonathan commented at 7:04 PM on August 1, 2003:

Ack! Treasure Island... Treasure!!! Hoisted by my own pitard!

http:// thingy now correctly in place, sahib!

I think that guy has to have the most annoying webcomic viewing interface I've seen in quite some time. BOLLOCKS TO YOUR INFINITE CANVAS, SIR! I couldn't even waste my time looking at his art since it was a struggle to actually see any of it without my mouse getting stuck somewhere in the interface. Peeyew! When experimental styles go wrong - indeed!

Plus I didn't see any stories about undead pirates or space monkeys, so what's the point really?
